The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
The Bible always stresses that what you say is an accurate indication of what is in your heart. When others are in trouble, do they know they will find peace and comfort in your words? Above scripture says tongue has the power of life and death. I believe that we live by what we speak, if we constantly speak negativity, there is very good chance that those negative thoughts will come to pass in your life. Words we speak have meaning. They can bring great joy and encouragement but they can also leave deep wounds where scars cannot be seen and if those hurting words come from the person you loved the most then those scars will not be healed very easily, as written in Proverbs 12:18. The ability to communicate our thoughts and feelings is a marvelous gift from our God. We should always use this gift to build up relationships, build up families but, not tear. You should always speak grace, compassion and healing on others.
The Power of the words of God's children and the importance of choosing words wisely. With our tongues we either speak; life or death, victory or defeat, insecurity or confidence, weakness or strength, trust or doubt, but whatever you say, be prepared to eat the fruit of your words. It will all depend on what’s filling your heart. Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart [the] mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45). A critical heart produces a critical tongue. A self-righteous heart produces a judgmental tongue. A bitter heart produces an acerbic tongue. An ungrateful heart produces a grumbling tongue. But a loving heart produces a gracious tongue. A faithful heart produces a truthful tongue. A peaceful heart produces a reconciling tongue. A trusting heart produces an encouraging tongue.
No matter what is going on in your life today, it’s time to “WATCH YOUR MOUTH!” Don’t get distracted by the trial or the mirage that nothing will change, begin declaring God’s word. Declare, Love in broken relationship, healing in disease, abundance during lack or debt, blessings in your children's future, loving partner in your marriage. Keep Prayer as your top priority, ask God to guard your tongue and words. This is a work in progress that requires discipline, trust, and faith. But once you begin to get in the rhythm of using your words wisely in thanksgiving and praise to God, when the wrong words try to come out, you will be able to take action and bounce back to God’s words. Speak life and watch your mouth! Be Blessed!
